EUROPEAN PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE ASSOCIATION

Junior Scholars Survey

At the same time, the Newsletter Team would like to hear from junior scholars (that is, students, those without permanent employment, and postdocs) about their experiences during the pandemic. We are soliciting your testimonies, however brief, to go in a news item on our website. We hope that this will lead to a wider conversation about our profession.

Please consider submitting answers to the following questions:

  • How has your life as a philosopher of science changed in the last year?
  • Do you think our discipline should change as a result of the pandemic?
  • What are your hopes or fears about the future of our field and your place in it?

Please email your answers to epsanewsletter@gmail.com by 15 April 2021. In your email, please indicate whether you grant us permission to use your name or only a generic description like ‘Postdoc from Germany’ or 'Student from Italy'.

Concessionary Membership

NEW The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has been particularly hard on junior scholars. To help those facing financial hardship, the Steering Committee has decided to update our Student membership to Concessionary membership (Student/Unwaged). This way, junior scholars who do not go straight into a job, or scholars who are otherwise not permanently employed, can still maintain EPSA membership at the reduced rate.
